Rounding the eastern tip of the island, there are numerous beaches that are protected by offshore coral reefs which provide favorable and safe swimming conditions year round. On the North Shore, you’ll find the two-mile stretch known as Sunset Beach. Just beyond that is Waimea Bay, with the largest rideable waves in the world, and Haleiwa, a small town straddling the highway.
