Panoramic tour of London’s West End: The day begins with a drive past many of London’s famous monuments, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, 10 Downing Street (the official London residence of the British Prime Minister), Trafalgar Square (with the statue of Lord Nelson), Pall Mall, and much more.
Westminster Abbey: Make a photo stop at this magnificent Gothic building that has been the site of every coronation since 1066.
Household Cavalry Museum (Exclusive Feature): See behind the scenes of the Household Cavalry and meet an actual trooper from the Household Guards. You will be able to ask any questions you like.
Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard: Alight at Buckingham Palace, where you’ll witness the Queen’s Foot Guard, a colorful spectacle in red tunics and bearskins marching to the accompaniment of a military band. (When this ceremony is not available, a visit the Horse Guards Parade is arranged).
Walking tour of Covent Garden: After lunch, time permitting, enjoy a short walking tour of vibrant Covent Garden, a quaint Italian-style piazza lined with shops, street entertainers, and restaurants in the heart of London’s theatre district.
City of London: As your driver takes you through the financial centre, learn about the Great Fire of 1666 and the Blitz of 1940-41, and see the Bank of England and The Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor.
St Paul’s Cathedral (Exclusive Feature): Arrive at St. Paul’s Cathedral, masterpiece of architect Sir Christopher Wren and one of London’s greatest buildings. The present building, completed in 1708, replaced the medieval cathedral, which was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666. Take a guided tour of the interior and see the newly cleaned cathedral and crypt. Enjoy exclusive access to the quire (not open to the general public), where you’ll see a collection of impressive mosaics.
The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels: During its 1,000-year history, this impressive fortress has been a royal palace, prison, mint, and zoo. It has seen three queens of England beheaded and witnessed the torture of numerous prisoners, stretched on the rack or crushed in the Scavenger’s Daughter. See the famous Crown Jewels, including the dazzling Cullinan diamonds and the exquisite Koh-i-Noor, as well as the Bloody Tower, Traitors Gate, the Royal Chapel, and the White Tower, built by King William the Conqueror in 1078.
Cruise on the River Thames: End your tour in spectacular style with a fabulous river cruise, where you’ll take in superb views of Tower Bridge, London Bridge, the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Tate Modern, and much more.
London Eye: Finish your day with a ride on the London Eye, an impressive Ferris wheel on the banks of the River Thames. Enjoy fantastic panoramic views as the whole of London stretches out below you. Your tour ends here at approximately 7pm.
